Good morning Forum friends,  I’ve had a few cockroaches in my kitchen drawers. looking for advice on what to use as I obviously don’t want to use the chemical spray that I use around the doors/windows.

I believe peppermint is apparently good for eliminating other insects...anyone know if it would work for cockroaches?

Thanks again Ray, but I don’t think I want to be spraying anything from a can into my cupboards or drawers. Probably just get the traps and put them underneath the kitchen units. Thankyou for your response

Get diatomaceous earth. This is a 100% natural insecticide. It is a fine rock powder with abrasive and absorbent properties. This combination is what makes diatomaceous earth so great at killing roaches (and other bugs). The abrasive powder cuts into the cockroach's exoskeleton and then absorbs water from the pest's body.

It's pre-historic earth from former oceans. It's used in toothpaste, as intestine medication, beer and wine filtering.

You can eat it. Give it to your dog against worms.

Get the powder, if you want in food-grade. distribute it under your kitchen cupboards and leave it there.

You will never have cockroaches again.

I know Nichola...I do this at home with spiders..but I’d much rather they weren’t there in the first place...when I arrive...or come back o the house after been out all day/night 😱

Yeah..I’m pretty OCD anyway Nichola so my usual routine should be fine...and yeh... definitely only a few when we arrive...or when we’re there. I’m sure I’ll cope 🙈

My brother is ther at the moment...he has washed drawers and cupboards with bleach...we arrive an hour or so after he leaves...so hopefully no unwanted “guests” when we arrive.

Thanks for your simple practical advice 👍
