I am feeling good, just been to vote. It is our only chance to say who we want to look after our interests. For those who haven’t been yet, here is a little help.

1. Take your passport, TIE card, and voting slip (if you have one).

2. Pick the slip up that has your party name on, and place in one of the WHITE envelopes, and seal.

3.Then take everything to the desk. They will check that you are eligible to vote, then they will  put your envelope in the box for you.

It’s quick and easy, so PLEASE everyone who can vote, do it. The holiday home owners do not have this option, so you are also acting for them. Orihuela Costa needs our help.

Have a good day 😎

Didn't vote.

Don't know the names of any of the party's (apart from the obvious PP) or candidates running. Do not know what they stand for individually nor what they plan for any given area.

No visits from politicians or flyers through the door outlining or trying to sell any manifesto. No posters up advertising it.

As such, my slip went in the bin.

After reading the post on here about independence form Orihuela, i hope you get what your looking for. Orihuela council are state of corruption and need removing.

Maybe i'll vote next time if the above issues change.

I do agree to some extent. Unless you are on Facebook, Instagram or the like, there is little info about the election.  I did get leaflets from PP and Cambiemos in our post box. PIOC have held daily meetings all over the OC and have handed out leaflets. Political parties are only allowed by law to campaign for something like 15 days before an election. In the U.K. we were inundated with campaign bumf. This lack of info is something which needs to be addressed before the next election. Perhaps this forum will accept and post the manifestos in future?

Spanish press have, of course, been full of virtually nothing else. All manifestos (promises), details etc been produced in all theri gory glory.

As all are available online and instantly translatable with Google, it might be an idea to see what's going on in your area.

I would recommend Informacion.es and ABC Valencia to get a good grounding on things that affect you.

Even Murcia Today (an English language paper) has a lot of what's going on in the Orihuela areas.

A Google search for El Pais in English will give you everything you want to know.

For those of you who registered to vote but haven't done so yet the polling stations will close at 8.00 pm.

I will be glad to see the back of it.

Two women canvassers turned up the other day and one looked like a prostitute. One way of getting votes.

I have just moved to a small village and about a hundred (no kidding) cars drove through a few streets, all banging their horns like a bunch of loonies. Such noise.

Well they shouldn't have done. They aren't allowed to canvas or solicit for votes within 15 days of the election.

For those of you in Orihuela area, PP got the most seats again but no absolute majority. Coalition with Vox will give them a majority of 1 seat.

Hi Villas,

That’s very helpful. I’ll remember this for next time and I’ll call in the TownHall about 3 months beforehand to get on the register.

kind regards
