Came across the item below earlier, not sure that the Local is the most accurate source of info, has anyone seen any similar stories.

Hi aitch,

I think 'The Local' is as good a source as where I read about this - in the Costa Blanca News!

Kind regards,

Kim

It's been reported in a number of places, all I can say is that I wouldn't hold your breath.

Spain (not just Valencia) would have to create a special visa to facilitate an extention to the Schengen 90 day rule and would have to make it inclusive of all 3rd country nationals.

We're Third Country nationals. Just like Russians, Americans, Chinese or whatever. It's wishful thinking.

Hi Kim

perhaps the Schengen site is more reliable?

https://www.schengenvisainfo.com/news/spains-costa-blanca-authorities-want-to-extend-the-permitted-period-of-stay-for-uk-citizens/

It looks like it is not about extending the length of time visitors can stay in any 360 days but allowing for longer stays that 90 days, still within the 180 day limit per year.

Aitch.
