Hi,
mould and condensation marks are quite easy to deal with yourself but you have to address the issue that is causing the problem in the first place. Maybe ask the guy that Denver has recommended about the longer term fix.
For us the condensation issues were cured by installing wall vents to keep the property aired when we were away. We also had a damp issue with one wall which required repairing cracks in a outside wall and repainting.

A dehumidifier would stop mould reoccurring. I use mine every evening and in the daytime I keep the bedroom window open.
