        not sure how to resolve the situation with your neighbour but one thing you might want to consider is a carbon monoxide detector. We have a log burner in the UK and have a detector, it has never been triggered but a good safety feature.

  It's unlikely that the fumes from next doors log burner would cause you problems but just in case.

We have been to the town hall and filled paper work so it gone into the authorities hands now, we have a daughter with aniexity and its getting to much for her as he bedroom is down stairs.

One other thing you might look at is a air vent that can be closed. I did this to cover our air vents, to keep out drafts on the coldest days in winter. I got  the vents from Leroy Merlin in La Zenia. I fitted a small frame around the existing vents to and screwed the closing vents to that, ...
