According to news agencies, the Spanish Gvt. is working on introducing some changes in traffic regulations including actual emergency indicators substituting triangles by a compact removable flashing yellow light placed on the affected vehicle.

If you keep an eye on the N332 website you will eventually find the information about this as they deal with anything to do with driving in Spain.   The website is run in collaboration with officers of the Guardia Civil for English speaking people and has an English version of the Spanish equivalent of the Highway Code.

Don't go throwing our your warning triangles just yet.  If the law is introduced to have them replaced by lights, it is likely to be 2025 before this happens, so you would be committing an offence to be without the triangles in the meantime:

Kind regards,

Update:

The law regarding the use of the V16 emergency lights has finally been approved, and the date by which it will be mandatory to use them has been amended to 1 Jan 2026, but they can be used from 1 July this year (see DGT official info).  Currently the V16 lights don't need to have GPS functionality, but from 1 Jan 2026 this functionality must be included.

Kind regards,

Kim
