Hi

Does anyone know please from experience when the Overseas Supermarkets get their range of Christmas stock, although maybe a little limited this year?

Many thanks

Bill

When we were there (Cabo  Riog) last Thursday there was very little in the way of Christmas stock, just the usual advent calendars, boxes and tins of chocolates and Iceland mince pies. By this time last year they had Christmas Cakes and puddings, waitrose mince pies and lots of party food. I'm thinking the UK wont export food items to Spain & leave themselves short. We go each week so will see how it pans out.

Hello

I don't even want to see Xmas products until late November so it suits me just fine ( why would you want Xmas cakes & party food in Oct??)

Cheers

Speaking personally, I hate xmas but love xmas food. Especially 'party' type food as I'm a snacker. I find Spanish 'sweet' things... Cakes, pastries, biscuits etc, stodgy, unpalatable and very 'samey'. I see beautifully decorated cakes in particular in places like Mercadona and they look enticing, but when I try them, I'm inevitably disappointed and rarely finish them. Fortunately, I'm a distance from any Iceland, so don't get to one often, as the temptation to stock up on this kind of food is a bit of a wallet drainer. I would kill for an M&S food hall at this time of year :D

Someone after my own heart, feel exactly the same way about Spainsh cakes and sweets I agree the cakes in Mercadona look lovely, but it always ends In disappointment, mostly they are so tooth rotting sweet you can feel the cavities forming as you eat.

I would also love an M & S food hall with all the Christmas goodies, and a couple of other things Clarence Court eggs from Waitrose, and Lashford Royal sausages. I really miss shopping at Waitrose and M & S food, Spainsh Supermarkets are just so downmarket.

Hello

No they don't deliver,  I dont have a car either so this is what I do.. Your location says Torrevieja so you can get a bus as close as possible & walk the rest... Walk down .Calle Apollo from town centre, it  will take you there in 5 - 10mins.

Cheers
