Hi all

My partner and I are both 28 and have recently arrived here from Ireland. We are having trouble getting our residency/Nie number sorted so are looking for cash in hand jobs to keep ourselves going for the next couple of months.

We both have customer service and teaching experience, and are willing to try our hand at anything. Whether it’s €20 or €200 per week, if you have any advice at all it would be appreciated.

Oh, dear, for money like that you can work as a slave for the farmers. Dont take the illegal way cash in hand in desperation. It is not good for you or for anybody else of working age in Spain. Think about cheap labour from Europe in UK.

If you cannot sort out your papers yourself, find a gestor, who will put your paperwork in order.

If you can not afford, what it takes, please rethink your plans.

Look after yourself, be safe.

Can't understand why you have issues obtaining an NIE or residency both are extremely easy processes for EU/EEA Passport holders. Just bear in mind for the residency interview you will both have to provide proof of sufficient resources to maintain yourselves or a job contract. If no job contract you need to provide proof of private medical insurance also.

The following is a link to the Irish Embassy in Madrid website containing important information and guidance for Irish citizens living in Spain

I wish you both well.
