Hi

We have a villa in pilar de la horadada, which we tend to use every other month.

Can anyone advise on the benefits or downside of applying for residentia, in light of brexit.

Thank you.  Catole

If you spend more than 183 days in a year here, then legally you should apply for residencia.

You then become legally liable to pay tax in Spain on your worldwide income, with the exception of any income that can only be taxed in the UK, in accordance with the dual taxation treaty. For some people this means less tax to pay, but for most it means more tax.

The effects of Brexit are totally unknown, and it's impossible to give good advice regarding this.

Thank you.  We spend less days than that.  Therefore, do you recommend that there are no benefits to applying for this?

Thank you.  Carole

Not only no benefits in seeking residencia if you aren't resident, but you'd be breaking the law by doing so.
