There have been reports of queues for security outbound from Malaga and queues inbound for passport control at Malaga. Not sure how accurate these have been as they have been run primarily by the Daily Express and The Daily Mail, newspapers with a fairly strong anti EU leaning.

There have been no reports of problems at Alicante. I have flown in and out 3 times recently and very quick on all occasions. My sister also visited from the UK and was gobsmacked at how efficient it was compared to UK airports.

Hi I arrived at Alicante Airport at 6.45am this morning….was checked in & thru security, bought presents in duty free & was having a coffee by 7.05 ☺️ Very Happy. Boarded & took off bang on time & landed in U.K. 15 minutes early … no queues at passport control & outside by 10.20am. Thank you Ryanair great journey 👍🏼

Hope this helps!

Friends arrived from (UK) this morning. 3 hours late , but something to read from the UK newspapers. I´ll pick them up later?

The Daily Express in particular has been running anti Spanish stories almost daily for quite a long time, while conveniently ignoring the absolute chaos in the UK.

Wouldn't believe very much of what they print. If any!

We travelled to the UK early on Wednesday 08th June.

Security was no problem, at Passport Control, only two officers were working and with document now requiring an exit stamp, long queues soon developed.

I passed through Alicante  last Saturday (4 June) and was very apprehensive because when I booked many months ago, I had no idea it was both half term in the UK and the Platinum Jubilee weekend. In fact, the Alicante experience was exemplary and appeared very well organised  (this was mid day)  as was Southampton, as one might expect given its size.  On balance, from anecdotal evidence that I have perused, Alicante has fared better in this respect than other major Spanish airports.
