Hi, This is Dennis from South Africa needing help.

If we were to fly to Madrid airport, what is the best and most economical way of getting from Madrid airport to Pinoso for two of us with two suitcases each?

If you're only over for a short period of time less than 2 weeks I would say hire a car and drive. I fly into Madrid and drive to my house every May half term as I save £400 on the flights compared to Alicante. Really easy drive 4.5 hrs. Stop for a bite to eat at Albacete.

Otherwise it's the Renfe/ Train to Alicante City. Then probably a taxi to Pinoso

Thank you,

Yes when we were there in July 2018 we did rent a car, but this time we plan to stay for about 6 months and will be buying a car. We just want the best way to get from Madrid airport to Alicante and from there to Pinoso. We will have the luggage to bear in mind.

If you are at Madrid Barajas airport then you take a flight to Alicante-Elche airport. Air Europa and Iberia fly directly and the price is around 40 eur/pp.

Thank you for the advice. The problem is with the luggage as one pays extra for checked in bags. It looks like the best will be to rent a car.

Take the train, it's a great service, clean, comfortable and the countryside is lovely to see through the window. Luggage no problem, you can book in advance and not expensive. Only way to and from Madrid for me.
