Hi. I think Pinoso is the town I want to buy a house and make the transition from UK. Can expat Brits offer me a general idea of what the town is like to live in full time? Crime in Pinosa? Is a car essential if living in the centro area?

How many days a year can I be there with a UK passport and can I transition into citizenship easily after property purchase?

Looking for 3+bed town house with minimal renovation with garden. €100k budget.

Thanks all

Dan

In terms of acquiring residency in Spain, citizenship is something entirely different, property purchase counts for nothing.

As a Brtish passport holder you can only spend 90 days in a rolling 180.

Getting the name of the town right might be a good starting point, Dan.

The two names reflect the position of the town as Valenciana is spoken as well as Castellano.

The vast majority here are not keyboard warriors and understand that typos occur.

Pinoso is a very friendly town, about 9000 people live in and around.

If you live centrally you can forgo the car, but it's needed for the longer trips as there isn't a (legal) taxi service and the public transport isn't up to much. Not too sure what your budget will get you in terms of a town house but there are a number of estate agents in and around town. Just be careful who you choose, some have stickier fingers than others.

Crime wise, yes there are burglaries, drugs and the usual you will find in small towns but really it's quite low and there is a reasonably sized police presence.

The town itself, the mayor is quite enlightened and is planning some upgrades both in and out of town which will be beneficial to all, I believe.

There are 4 supermarkets in town, numerous restaurants, local and expat run. Many fiestas and a reasonable social scene.

Good luck

Hola

Currently you can only be in the EU for 3 months at a time due to Brexit even if you buy a property. You can only live in the EU if you apply for the visa and meet all of the new requirements regarding money, health and private health care plan. Unless anyone is working in the EU the rest of us not working are immigrants and not expats.
