It's a bit of a pointless question really as your NI history is what counts and that should be a matter of record with DWP.

It's something you only need to worry about if you've worked elsewhere in the EU.

Have you had a pension forecast ?

I think when they're asking you the dates it's part of a wider verification programme.

ie part of checking that they're going to be paying the pension to the right person .

My opinion is that they want you to tell you if their system has all the relevant information. For instance, my wife challenged the amount they said they would pay her, and lo and behold they found some graduated contributions they hadn't taken account of, and increased her pension accordingly.

Funny that Jim Mate off mine phoned me last year he had received his final figures was dissgustedwith them phoned and complained said they. were correct. 3 weeks later he was informed he was going to receive another £4.50 a week.my pension forecast was £6 a week more than they have told me I will receive in May not convinced with and Government office.3yrs back over 6 month period had 3 letters saying I owe tax £400.decided I will pay this what happens the day before I write the Cheque received a cheque for Tax rebate £2000 unbelievable.
