This was an interesting read.

It looks as if for my use case;

1/ Once our residency exceeds 5 years and we apply for our permanent residency we are entitled to Spanish healthcare without having to contribute to the convenio especial. We will both be below the UK state pension age at that point - so the S1 is some way off for us.

2/ Given we were granted residency before 31/12/20 we would be able to receive UK NHS treatment.

Am I reading this right?

Have you been in touch with your solicitor, to check everything for you..you only get recipricol healthcare if you're retired and qualify, if not, you have to contribute to the healthcare system, by way of being self employed or you are on a contract...failig that, taking out private medical insurance..hope it works out.

Morning - we are already resident but my comments were specifically geared towards the link Alex posted above. It's either clumsily worded or suggestive of my conclusions above. Just interested in any other views on the text itself :)
