This is a bit like saying how long is a piece of string, there are a number of factors that come into play, like your age, claims history, type of car, number of drivers.

As an example we have a Ford kuga, just over 12 months old, both myself and husband are named drivers, fully comp €432 per year through IBEX Insurance.

Hi Devun,

It would be best if you call a few companies to obtain comparable quotes.

I've been with Liberty Seguros for 4 years and very happy with them.  Of course, it's not just about which is cheapest, but how they respond when you need to claim.  When my brand new car was rear-ended the day after I collected it from the showroom, Liberty Seguros were brilliant in arranging the repair quickly.  Each year, I also get quotes from Linea Directa and our bank, Sabadell, but they've always been more expensive.

It's worth bearing in mind that your car insurance should include breakdown cover as standard.

Kind regards,

Kim
