Hi my bank informed me a few years ago it would cost €800 to de-register the debt of my mortgage, which I declined to do at that time. I have since closed the account with the bank. Is there a fixed rate for this action and where can this transaction be finalised.

In your case, you will have to require the bank to set up a so called "carta de pago" before a Notary Public, pay stamp tax and take this document to your land register, pay registration fee and that's it. Amounts depend on the mortgage, the bank cannot charge you anything..
