Tourist Tax
The tourist tax which was due to be implemented in the Valencia Region next year has been scrapped by the new regional government.
This was announced today and met with approval from the hotel industry in the Region. It would have been a daily charge on rooms and being more expensive depending on the star rating. It would also have applied to those renting their properties and they would have had to collect this tax from their holiday tenants and pay it as a separate fee to the tax authorities.
The Valencian Minister of Tourism is to send a letter to the British tourist centres and travel agents to assure them that this tax will not be applied next year.
