...anish medical phrases side by side covering men and womens ailments and problems ,we used it everywhere when undertaking medical visits and it is a great ice breaker,with a sense of humour and a smattering of basic Spanish you have no need to employ expensive interpreters and make many friends.
20 years ,have done all my own admin,driving licence,S1,Residencia,SIP ,Spanish wills( diy costs €50 at a Notary) ,buying and selling five houses ,been through Cancer treatment at Elda and Valencia,not all plain sailing but through it all we had a good laugh and made many good friends.
Our first house had yellow stickers everywhere with spanish names of everything,a teach yourself spanish tape on loudspeaker and a reluctance to converse in english when out and about,pronunciations initially caused a lot of mirth locally but everyone remembered us and hand shaking and stopping in the street to chat made going out enjoyable.Best thing we ever did!
