I'm looking at a property just up from Urb. El Limonar. It's near Mercadona and on the lake front.

Looking on street view there doesn't seem to be any shops, bars or restaurants. Is this the case?

We are looking at coming out to retire and as such we'd like a recidencial area with amenities within walking distance at the same time somewhere that is on the quite side.

Any thoughts and recommendations welcome.

We are actually coming out this coming Wednesday for a week to explore areas. We're staying in ciudad quesada.

If you cross the 905 dual carriage way you will a Shopping Complex. There is 1 San Luis. The big Shopping mall nearest will be the Habernasa Shopping centre and Carrefour shopping centre about 15 minutes walk for you. You could use the Yellow Brick Rd it a Pedestrian walk into Torrevieja . In September this year I believe a new Housing complex and Shopping centre will be starting in La Hoya. That is directly opposite Altos de Limonar it is nearer the Carrefour shopping centre. BMW dealers in the area.

Nothing on your side but there is a commercial centre across the road with some small shops, newsagent, bars and restaurants and where the health centre is.

A little up the road on your side is a row of shops with a bar at the end and several others. The fairly regular bus service to Torrevieja stops outside Mercadona and, of course, the ubiquitous Chinese bazaar.

Bit further on over the road is a club with swimming pool and bowls and hosts some gala evenings. Called the Oasis it's also where the Royal British Legion hold their meetings.

Not as many amenities as Ciudad Quesada but a good bus service to get elsewhere which is what Quesada doesn't have.
