Renewing driving license.

Telephone the DGT on 060 with all personal details to hand, your call will be prompted to press 1 = English speaking, give details including province = Alicante, a confirmation email will be sent to the email address supplied by you with details of appointment, you have up to 30th December 2020 to get your details of application in and you will have up to 30th June 2021 to exchange, if you do not apply before the 30th December you will have to complete a Spanish driving test, so phone and let us know how you get on, there have been post recently on here, so look through the threads, there is also information on c.a.b Spain, n332 Facebook pages as well as other sites. Thank you Peter for your info ,my husband does have a Spanish driving license,but has been referred to Alicante as they must give the temporary license,so he is still trying to get a appointment .

I went to Cereco in Torrevieja for my medical and renewal, they gave me my temporary license and then the new licence came in the post. If you can get to Torrevieja they will might be able to help. They are in the same street as the post office.

Forget about the medical you have already had and go to Torrevieja - address and telephone below.   I have been using Cereco in Torrevieja for my medical and renewal licence for years as has my husband.   They also do the medical test and take your photo, very easy, eye sight test and a small play on a computer type monitor to check your co-ordination.   Cost around 45 Euros.   They gave me my temporary license and then the new licence came in the post - they tell you that if you do not have the full licence in three months come back to them but that the temporary licence will last three months. If you can get to Torrevieja they will be able to help. They are in the same street as the post office.

You have to make an appointment via the telephone or calling in at their offices.   The appointment will be for 4.30pm or afterwards but the appointment can be made any time during the day.   They are Spanish speaking so you will need a Cita - that is appointment.
