Properties for sale

Hi, we have recently moved to torrevieja and are currently renting a property from the estate agent . (eden properties ) we have put down a deposit on a bungalow in San luis and we're expected to move in 2 weeks ago . we went with the agents solicitor as not read posts on here before. we were told when she took us to the police station to get our nie numbers that the German seller had broken his leg and couldn't fly to Spain to sign the contracts for another 2 weeks. that was 2 weeks ago and tried to phone the agents today but to no avail. they also said that the money would have to be paid in cash is this normal in spain ?
Worried now as read previous posts regarding solicitors in spain.
