I have lived in San Miguel since October 2019, but despite this the medical centre in San Miguel refused to give me a temporary S1 (I have private health insurance as I am only 57 so not entitled to full S1) or offer me the covid vaccine as I did not have a valid EHIC or GHIC card.

I had attended 3 times and each time was turned away. This was despite me telling them that the Spanish Health Minister had stated that everyone in Spain regardless of residency, health insurance etc would get the vaccine. Then 3 weeks ago I attended and was finally given a temporary S1 only valid until end of December, I was told I will receive a telephone call or message with an appointment for the vaccine. I am still waiting.

I am now really concerned that I am still not vaccinated and now with all the talk of vaccine passports this is now really getting me down.

Any advice on who to speak to or visit would be greatly appreciated.

Hi

We had exactly the same problem in sept in San Miguel. Waited three weeks with no response, called again was told to expect phone call within a week, nothing again and ended up having to go back for a third time but did get sorted with a date there and then.

Think it’s just a case of torturing them!

Good luck

Deirdre
