Has any body used there Uk EHIC card recently in spain. The Uk government say they are still valid under the Brexit withdrawal treaty butt a friend of mine was refused to be treated using it at a clinic that did accept it before I do get travel insurance but last year I was treated with my EHIC card in the main torreveja hospital as I was involved in a accident

EHIC cards are, & always have been for emergency treatment only. Some Saluds have, in the past accepted them for more minor issues but things have tightened up considerably this year & clinics are sticking more rigidly to the rules (my clinic is) a friend registered at a different clinic in the area has also seen people turned away with minor ailments, asking for prescriptions etc - they were refered to the nearest farmacia.
