where's the best neighbourhood to rent first as a base to get to know the area? we don't want a busy apartment block but an urbanization close to amenities with good access to explore the area.

Hi I would rent in Alicante city centre & then have a look from there , not many urbanizations ! You really need to have a good look around the tram is great & fast.
