Hi Rita,

We bought into Santa Pola a few years ago and divide our time between this and our first home in Scotland.

We have tried dozens of the little bar/restaurants that inhabit the back streets, doing marvellous menus of the day, Spanish food, at astoundingly low prices usually including a bottle of house plonk.

So many good ones, so I wouldn't know where to start recommending them

Regarding Chinese, we usually go to either the Nankin at the top end of the Avenida Portus Ilicitanus on the compass roundabout where you can get their three course  including a half bottle of house wine for 7-8 €!, or choose your own from a huge menu ncluding Sushi, at equally low prices. Good stuff at great prices. You often find campervan owners from Northern Europe in there, and they are renowned for finding the best quality and value for all their needs, including free parking down at the beach!

Another good value Chinese is the Casa de Oro, down on the sea front, facing the marina. This is slightly up market of the Nankin and does their own version of buffet, which is cooked to order and served at your table, again as much as you want to eat, for 11.95€ including drink, again as much as you want, within reason!

But there are countless eating places of all nationalities, so wander around in the day, don't get lost, and enjoy finding your own favourite places!

Buen apetito, and welcome to wonderfully unspoiled Santa Pola!

Ray & Frances
