Iberdrola

Hi has anyone tried to contact Iberdrola and been successful. We have been trying to contact them by phone and email without any success we had a Massive Power Surge on Monday evening which blew all our lights cooker tumble dryer two TVs and the internet. So lockdown and no Televisions or internet and half of our lights out WELL DONE IB

You really need to contact your insurance company so that they can assess the situation, in the meantime it may also be worth your while chatting with any neighbours to see if they have been affected because it is unlikely that a power surge would affect just one property.

Also, do you have Plan Hogar on your electricity contract?

Are you ringing Iberdrola Distribution on 900 171 171

But you still need to inform your insurance company.

It's possible the surge was due to a lightning which would not be Iberdrolas fault but in any case if your power is, still on ("half of our lights out") then unless you have insurance with them which pays for damaged equipment then it's not Iberdrola you need to be talking to anyway.

Just to throw in a ray of hope. A few years ago our area had a power spike of well over 300 volts which did a lot of damage. A guy from Iberdrola came round and gave me contact details, to which I forwarded details of the costs I incurred in putting things right. A few days after, they paid what I'd claimed into our bank account. And we didn't have plan hogar cover.

You are correct, if the power surge is caused by an Iberdrola fault they will of course reimburse for any damages.   

The reason I mentioned Plan Hogar is because it is a "domestic appliance" insurance provided on some Iberdrola contracts, which means the original poster could claim for any losses using that.
