Hi just a quick question, does anyone know someone who offers airport transfer to Alicante Airport, we have looked into the price of a taxi and the price has gone up  100 % since we used one in March, I know fuel prices have increased but the price quoted us is very heavy, I thought there may be someone who does it as a private operator

Inflation, shortage of drivers and fuel costs all add to the price you pay, it’s the same in the UK

Nobody can offer this service privately as it is illegal. Private car insurance excludes for hire and reward so there would be no insurance in place should there be an accident. The police and registered taxi drivers are always on the lookout and you can all be fined if caught.
As Paolo says there are driver shortages with huge queues at some Spanish airports.
