I think it would be down to the (your) dog's attitude. The plane would be no problem. Some are used to alkward flyers. V

There would be a weight restriction imposed plus the size of the animal carrier must not exceed certain dimensions by the airline, for example, Iberia have a weight restriction of 8kgs. The followings links will provide greater detail:
