You may have an option of dog sitters, neighbours that are willing to help and local dog walkers might have some good information on who to use.

Like the UK, there are paid dog walkers that are likely good sources of information. Ask about, there may just be a person wanting some pet company that would suit both parties down to the ground. The key would be to do it as early as possible so you can have something in place in good time. Good...

... luck.

Thanks 👍

Hi again.

Just changing the subject a little.

You mention 3 months or so.   Are you aware of the 90 day rule ?

It is complicated but it may mean you would have to leave your dog for a lot longer than planned, and I politely suggest you look into that matter before anything else.. There is a lot of valuable information on this subject on the forum.

.I still wish you good luck but I am not optimistic about your plans,

Cheers

We have a puppy we have had since 12 weeks.  He is our baby and goes everywhere with us.  I will admit that Spain is not suited to all dogs as they must be on a lead in all public places that makes it difficult to let him have a run which he loves.  Dogs are not stupid and he doesnt like heat so settles in the shade.  He is walked early morning and bedtime. He loves coming to restaurants and people watching.   Furthermore we have commitments in UK and need to trave back every two months.  Again, no issue.  Plenty of stops and an overnighter in a dog friendly hotel.  We wouldnt be without him and if its young enough it will quickly adapt.  Go for it.   He is a SWD and they are suitable for apartments.

Hi Dinah, We have a Shih Tzu we got in September over here and he's not daft stays out direct sun when we go out we leave him indoors with light fan or aircon on but never leave more than 3 hours. We would have your dog if its a small breed and would have to get them used to each other of course before you left, message me if your interested.

Hi all.Our dog died a few years ago in Uk. We are hoping now we’re retired to get another one but the problem is we travel back to the Uk for x amount of months a year.Kennels are not an option as  obviously to expensive and would be cruel to leave there for 3 months possibly. So what do ot...

...her people do?

There's several rescue centres who always are looking for fosterers so you can take a dog in while in Spain and return it when you have to return to the UK.

Sorry, but that is so unfair for any dog..  I do not even think a rescue centre would even entertain that idea..

Hi thanks for reply,

We don’t have a dog at the moment because we want to have everything in place before we proceed, but thanks we will certainly consider your offer.
