Bank charges

Hi there all just a question on bank charges, does anyone know of a bank that doesn't charge extortionate fees. I have been with caja Madrid now caxija for over 20 years and how now paying 250 euros for the privilege. All my utilities are paid through my account but it does seem very high, bearing in mind I have never been overdrawn. Therefore I am looking to find a bank that doesn't charge so highly possibly an Internet account, they seem to be popular at this time. Any help would be much appreciated. Regards John Wheaton

Hi,

There are many posters on this forum who have signed up with "Wise" Internet banking and transferred all their direct debits etc to be paid through that account. When you join Wise you are issued with an EU IBAN which is acceptable to most utility companies.

We have a Cajamar "weferrent" online account, no charges even though we, re non residents. Research the many postings and repies on this forum. As a non resident you need to apply inside branch as NIE not recognised, but residents can apply online. Never paid a cent in fees since March 2019.
