Hello

I bank with Sabadel bank who charge approx €35 in commision charges every 3 to 4 months. Does anyone know of a bank which charges less in commision?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks.

Try asking BBVA. There have been several reports of them offering a fee-free account for non-residents.

Hi you seem to have the same Sabadell account as me and it is every 3 months.someone was saying on the forum a law was passed where banks can only charge €3 a month to have an account with them this included non residents but you was only allowed 100 transactions a year including DD and cash withdraws seems a good deal to me I shall make enquires when I come out seems to good to me.

Not quite right, Ray. There is a basic bank account with a monthly maximum charge of €3, but I doubt it would suit many people:

Thank you very much Jim. Do you know if they have a website address. Where are they situated.

Have tried this with Sabadell. You have to go to the branch where you opened account. We looked on their website and took a copy in Spanish and English. We caught cashier's attention but told us we had to make an appointment with someone. We have the card but could not face going back. Might try in September. You have to take certain documents even though we already bank with them. Also from the website we fitted the criteria.

Hi

Do they charge for withdrawals?  We would like to do this at a branch.  Do they charge any fees at all?  We don't want a card as that would be extra I presume.  All we have with them is 7 or 8 direct debits.  Do you transfer money from U.K and if so which company do you use?

Sorry for the questions but might have to follow this route and have money transferred to Sabadell from England and then take it out when we are in Spain.

Thanks for your help.

Wendy
