I'm with Sabadell and am generally happy with the service but not the €35 per quarter fees. I'm back in Ireland for a few weeks and just wanted to check if my card worked in an Irish ATM, so I w/drew €20.00.  On checking my account online, I'm charged €4.00 for the privilege - despite making the w/drawal in the Eurozone. I know the Irish bank probably charge something for the 'service' but that is some charge to levy.  It makes me more determined than ever to leave Sabadell when I can.

I think it depends on what account you have.

I believe that there is a residents bank account and a non residents account. The residents account has either no charges or substantially less than the 35 euros.

I guess it’s all a bit academic as all banks are going to be introducing charges starting

with HSBC I believe. This is how the banking world use to work years ago as all banks always charged.

I don’t agree with it, but this is the way it’s heading.

Yes, I will take a look.

As I say many of Banks worldwide are going to be making bank charges like they used to be. I guess time to move banks.

It seems unreasonable to me that they are as high as this.

They are having a larf. I already have an N26 card (free version) so I have a German IBAN. There is a mention of switching  people on German IBAN's to Spanish IBAN's on the N26 blog see https://n26.com/en-es/blog/local-iban-spain.  I contacted N26 Customer support today and they know nothing about this. Looking into the N26 options, I see that 'N26 You' account  @€9.90 pm for a 1 year contract, SEEMS to offer a possibility of a Spanish IBAN. I'll keep that in mind. It is still cheaper (by €40) than Sabadell.

Maybe, but I don't think so, The rep in N26 said I would need to close the existing account. Opening a new one would be the easiest.
