Yes, look at the many posts on here which recommend an E Bank. Most recommend Wise but there are lots of others. These E banks use an EU bank account (Wise from Belgium, others from Netherlands etc) and will pay your direct debits for you at no charge.

They are currency companies and not real banks but you can lodge money with them and they will pay the direct debits. There is no charge made and they make their money on the exchange rates. They will even issue you a debit type card so you can withdraw money in Spain though there is a charge, but very low, for this service.

Lots of posts on here about them and if you put Wise in the search box you'll come up with loads.

Once you've made sure all your direct debits have been dealt with (you may have to contact the suppliers with the new bank details) then close the Sabadell account so you no longer have the high fees associated with a non resident account. Note that all Spanish banks will make charges on a non resident account though some give discounts if you have shares, take out all your insurance policies or other conditions.

But the E banks are the way to go to avoid all charges but just keep enough in them to pay your bills.

I concur with marcliffs post and fully recommend Wise Online. I have used Wise for many years and totally satisfied with the services.

If your a resident I recommend Imagine, it's online but has excellent customer service and it's 100% free first bank in a long time I have been happy with. It's a branch of La Caixa so you use their cash points
