Internet banking remotely

I recently opened a bank account in a Spanish bank since I need to purchase property in Spain. I did this by posting all relevant documents to the bank. When I asked if I could access my account remotely through internet banking I was told that login details are only provided when you visit your branch of the bank in Spain. Obviously I need this facility when I'll be transferring funds and checking if it has actually been credited. Has anyone had this kind of problem before? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your reply. Truly appreciated. I must say this is not a good solution because after all the bank just needs to send you by email or registered post this information. After all that's what our local Maltese banks do.

I am going through the same process, I used Banco Sabadell, I have not even been to Spain to set this up and can access my account on the net via access codes the bank set me by text.

That's the same bank as mine but I haven't received any login details. I've emailed the bank twice and called unsuccessfully but I have been ignored for the past week.

I just have had the matter sorted out. Called Sabadell help line and a very gracious lady explained the simple process of applying for internet banking service online from their website. I should be receiving all details details.It is a great service unlike service in the branch. Thanks all who tried to help me.
