Wise euro account
Has anyone used Wise euro account for AEAT to take income tax by direct debit

Pretty sure it has to be a Spanish bank not just an ES IBAN (i.e. Wise) for the simple reason that AEAT cannot freeze or embago a foreign account in case of non payment.
Strictly speaking I don't think tax payments are direct debits in the way you wouldd pay day your electricity or water etc.
Still let's wait and see if anybody chimes on and says they've done it.
BTW don't conflate AEAT payments with SUMA which can be paid by multiple means.

I was told by our tax agent it had to be a Spanish account so opened up a BBVA online account only just for the yearly taxes it has no fees.I use Wise account for everything else.

You only need a Spanish Bank account if you are a Resident. Non residents can pay from any bank worldwide.
