I wonder if it is necessary to show the covid passport when I want to enter a restaurant or is it sufficient to show just a proof of recovery in a printed form? Normally I always could enter the restaurants with that Dokument, but yesterday in a restaurant in Elche they did not let me enter because I had no COVID Passport 🤔 Can anyone help? Thank you in advance

Hello

Ive just come back from Torrevieja and many cafes were asking for the Covid certificate before you could go inside so I would say, if the cafe/restaurant want to see it ... its important to have it to avoid arguments
Some cafes at the side of the church square have extended their outside seating area on to the road (now cordoned off for Xmas stalls) so that probably avoids the need for it, but you wouldnt get inside to use the toilets etc

Cheers

Hi Alexandra67,

The official regulation is that you have to present a Covid vaccination certificate if you're entering premises that are licensed for 50 or more seats.  However, I know of smaller bars in my area which are also asking for proof of double-vaccination in order to protect their staff.

Kind regards,

Kim

Have you printed your certificate of recovery as a EU Digital Covid Certificate.

If you go to the download page as per normal certificate there’s the option to get the EUDCC by choosing the Recovery Cert button.

More details on the link below

Dear Lynn, unfortunately this is not an EU certificate, but only the result of the test, so I can't upload it.

@ all: I don't doubt that the regulation makes sense; I just want to know whether officially only the COVID passport is accepted or whether a proof in printed form must also be accepted.

Hi Alexandra67,

Printed form is acceptable, but it has to have the required QR code.  If you use the link that Lynn has provided, scroll down the page and there's a link to download a "Recovery Certificate", which will be in the required format.  Note that it stipulates the Recovery Certificate is "Available if you have confirmed COVID-19 with a positive PCR test less than 180 days ago. The European regulation does not allow a positive antigen test as a certificate of recovery."

Kind regards,

Kim

Dear Kim, thank you very much. Unfortunately I am not a resident, so I haven’t got a SIP 🙄. In Germany the Test certification is accepted everywhere, I can use it for traveling to Spain and in Torrevieja it has been accepted in all Restaurants until now; therefor I did not care about getting a COVID Passport. Until yesterday’s experience…

Hi Alexandra67,

OK, that makes sense now.  If you had the EU Covid digital certificate, which is available and valid in all European countries, that would be OK for Spain, but I don't know whether Recovery Certificates are also a standard format EU-wide.

Kind regards,

Kim

Yes, but it is a Spanish Certification, so I did not expect any difficulties here in Spain 🤔😄
