Driving permit

Can anyone tell me if you will need a permit to drive a hired car from January 21?

What do you mean by 'permit'?
If you mean an International Driving Permit or IDP then it's long been held that you'll need one to drive in Spain after 1.1.21 however the current information from the UK government is that you don't.

For the sake of £5.50 I think I'd just get one to be on the safe side.
