if living in UK can you get something of your doctor to say you would be better off medically living in the Spanish climate to make it easier to get permanent residency ?

You have to apply for a non lucrative visa before you can be accepted for residency. As long as you meet that criteria you don’t need a note from your doctor.

Don’t think a doctors note  will work either  for the number of people who have to return to the U.K. for health reasons!

Nice idea but unfortunately fanciful.

As said you need to apply for a visa and nowhere in that process does it even ask about your health, it only requires that you have private  insurance for it.* * * * *
On reflection I should qualify that by saying that a doctors certificate of being free of illness or diseases is required.Quote-"Certificate signed and stamped by a registered doctor. This Certificate must literally state that the Applicant “does not suffer of any illness which represents a risk or a danger for the public according to the International Health Regulations of 2005”. The document must be legalized with the Hague Apostille and translated by a Sworn Translator only."
