Good evening everyone

My husband and myself are going to retire to Spain this summer. We are looking at renting a villa or apartment. We quite like Torrevieja as a town but we were wondering if anyone can give any advice about other areas and prices. We both have our state pensions and a small savings. We have our NIE's as we have lived in Spain before but had to come back  for family problems.

My concern is the Spanish Tax system and how much we would have to pay. Also does anyone know what will happen with the health care when we leave the EU.

Thanks Liz

At the moment nobody knows what will happen about healthcare after the end of this year.

As you're both over 65, you wouldn't pay tax if your income is less than €14265 each.

Do your finances qualify you for residency? Look at my guides, especially that for residency.

You need to get your residency applications in before the end of a Brexit transition period, which will be the end of this year provided the EU Parliament approves the withdrawal agreement on Wednesday this week.
