Looking for some advice. A friend has bought a UK registered car here in Spain. He is flying here from UK on Thursday afternoon, and will be driving back to the UK, via France, almost immediately.

I really cannot find any definitive answer to what Covid tests he needs to go back to the UK, or what he needs to go via France, and when he has to have them.

Any answers or pointers appreciated. Thank you.

Apologies if this duplicates info you have already checked, but here is the link to the French government website

As your friend is likely going immediately to France, it makes sense for him to follow the rules applicable to travellers from the United Kingdom

https://www.interieur.gouv.fr/Actualites/L-actu-du-Ministere/Certificate-of-international-travel#from4

If I were your friend, I would get another negative test whilst in Spain ( I’m a belt and braces person) and present that to the French authorities, so as not to give them any reason/excuse to deny me passage.  It seems that many French officials are not happy that the United Kingdom has left the EU, and see it as their job to make life difficult for Brits as a result.

Best of luck to your friend, E.
