Hi Carmen,

Not sure exactly what you mean by "what is happening with Ryanair", but this may help:

Kind regards,

I understand that some residents of Madrid have been ignoring the lockdown and taking advantage of the shutdown to head to the Costas taking the virus with them e.g. the position in  Mazzaron. I'm also due to fly out 23rd with Ryanair to meet some estate agents in Torrevieja for a week and just wondering should I? Flights still on for now according to airline but could change at anytime .Anyone got a local update on the virus?

I just answered your question under Corona Virus

Try to search Google for news.

Spain is on high alert.
ALL restaurants, bars, schools public buildings closed everywhere.
Just supermarkets and chemists are open.

You are flying on March 23rd??

Will there be flights?

Nobody knows.  It’s day to day updates on news.

Hi Tom,

The situation in Spain is that the country has the highest level of infections in Europe, after Italy.  The Spanish government declared a "State of Alert" this afternoon and although we await further announcements tomorrow, in terms of what that means for those of us living in Spain, we already know that bars, restaurants, theatres, clubs and many other venues close at midnight tonight for a period of 15 days.  This is now being reported on UK television, although I was concerned to hear Sky News report it as only affecting Madrid when, in fact, it is widespread.

We believe food shops and pharmacies will remain open, but await confirmation tomorrow.  As you've said you're flying with Ryanair, probably best for you to keep checking the link I provided to Carmen for further developments.

Kind regards,

Kim

And do you think you should be quarantined the moment you arrive back in the UK or do the rules only apply to Madrileños moving about their own country? Has the UK stopped the movement of people? I'm sorry but I find your remark extremely selfish.
I was due to fly back to the UK to be my daughter's birth partner for our first grandchild but I will not now be going as I will be following government advice and staying at home.

Good morning Cheryl

Sorry to hear about your cancellation.
That is a big disappointment for your and your daughter.
It is taking time for some people to grasp the serious situation Europe and the World finds itself in.

This will pass but none of the experts know when.
Hope everyone stays well and follows good advice.

Best wishes

Maria 🙂
