Hi please could anyone tell me I there is a size restriction on a 10kg bag checked in with Ryanair? I have looked on their website but can’t really get a clear answer.
If anyone has travelled recently with this baggage I would appreciate some advice

Many thanks

Hi have a look at this

55 x 40 x 20cmRyanair Cabin BaggageOnly priority boarding passengers will be permitted to take one small bag (40cm x 20cm x 25cm), plus a larger cabin bag (55 x 40 x 20cm)with a maximum weight allowance of 10kg into the cabin free of charge.

Thank you for all your replies

So am I correct in thinking that the 10kg case size restriction only applies if you have booked a case with priority boarding - if you have checked in a 10kg bag (not with priory boarding) I can take a larger sized case as long as it doesn’t exceed 10kg?
Sorry to appear stupid but I don’t want to be penalised at airport.

Thanks

As far as I am aware your assessment is correct. It is something I have wondered about before myself and came to the same conclusion

If you are talking about cabin baggage (ie bringing on to plane) you can bring 1 small bag (ie handbag or satchel) that fits under seat included in your ticket price. If you want to bring a bigger bag in addition to your handbag, you must pay priority (or much much more at airport) and that bag must be under 10kgs and fit in the bag checker at check-in/boarding, so it must be smaller than 55 x 40 x 20cm.

If you have already bought your ticket, you can access your ticket through the app or on computer and add extra bags etc and pay for them, usually dearer than if done at time of booking but way less than doing it at the airport

Checked in the hold baggage can be up to 20kg and incurs its own charges, much cheaper if booked and paid at the same time as the ticket

Ryanair staff get a cut of the sales and the charges that they can force upon you, so expect no mercy

Thank you

I am aware of cabin bag sizes and restrictions but I am checking a 10kg bag in (not with priority) and my case is larger than 55x40x20 - I am taking something light so it will not be over 10kg.

Is this allowed?

Hi,

The links that have already been supplied via forum responses are not from Ryanair.

The Ryanair link

https://www.ryanair.com/gb/en/useful-info/help-centre/terms-and-conditions/termsandconditionsar_696869348#:~:text=8.3.1.,relating%20to%20carry%2Don%20baggage.

shows in Paragraph 8.3.3 it says that checked in 10kg bags must not exceed 55cm x 40cm x 20cm.

So it seems that if your case is larger in dimensions than above then it would not be accepted if you have only paid for 10kg 'checked in'.

You can of course pay for a 20kg checked in case which would resolve your case size issue.

Probably not what you wanted to hear.

Regards,

Bob
