I agree, Maria. I feel a sense of responsibility for having travelled to Valencia earlier in the week, but I don't feel "blame". We did consider cancelling our trip, but mass gatherings had not been banned and we followed all other government advice to the letter. The Fallas was cancelled after we'd arrived in Valencia - the following day, government run museums, etc. were shut down and by the time we arrived home yesterday afternoon, the Spanish government had declared the "State of Alert". This is such a fast moving situation and whilst it's natural to feel frustration and even anger at others, I think some of this may come from people's perfectly natural fear of the unknown, coupled with specific, personal situations.
When I spoke to my 92 year old father yesterday evening, he hadn't seen the latest UK news - which probably explains why his main concern was a bad bout of arthritis in his fingers that may stop him playing the conga drums on stage tomorrow night! We all have to take individual responsibility for our actions and act in accordance with the most up to date advice from our governments - which is why I'm going to call him again tomorrow and check that he knows what that advice is! 🙂
Take care everyone,
Kim
