Whilst you may, indeed, be correct in your assumptions, why should we expect the NHS to pick up the tab when we decide to travel?  We don’t expect them to pay for our flights or travel insurance, so why should we expect them to pick up the bill for our traveller Covid testing? IMO it’s only right that we pay privately. If we don’t like it, then most of us travel of our own volition, we can always stay put.

No problem, and you have obviously taken the time to learn some Spanish, well done. I’m trying, but do get embarrassed at times when I get it all wrong, none the less,  I think even trying is appreciated, cheers.

I speak fluent Español due to the fact my wife is Spanish and our children are Spanish. It would be very difficult for me to live and work here without Spanish I feel.

We have lived in a few countries including the U.K., Mexico for while and now here.

Don’t disagree at all, unfortunately so many companies have been ripping off the general public and very little has been done about it to date. No one has suggested that the NHS should pay. In fact some of the unjustified profits should go toward supporting the NHS, not lining the pockets of profiteers.

The U.K. has incurred massive debts because of coronavirus and the fact that tests are freely available to people who feel the need to test is commendable.  Why on Earth do people feel such animosity towards the U.K. ? It never ceases to amaze me.  No government is perfect, they never have and in my opinion, never will be.  The attitude of the people in today’s world seems to be take,take,take.    The same applies to people who pop along to Accident and Emergency at their local hospital when there is very little wrong with them again never ceases to amaze me. I’ve always considered A&E to be a place one would go to if ill or injured. In today’s world, people go along for all sorts of ridiculous reasons.

Before long, the country will be obliged to move away from our wonderful NHS and we will all have to pay for our care whether we like it or not.  If we chose to travel out of the country then we are obliged to follow the countries guidelines and arrange the necessary tests,  Yes, it is annoying that tests are freely available to everyone and we travellers have to pay hefty sums for them but I wanted to go toSpain as soon as we were permitted so I accepted that more money for tests would be necessary. We can all afford to eat out as much as we fancy when in Spain and don’t expect not to have to pay for the pleasure. This is the real world we live in. British people Irving in Spain have to pay higher taxes but they do it because they choose to live in that country. Countries need revenue to keep the show going. People go out to work to be able to pay their way in life.   I think the cost of the tests were possibly a deterrent to stop huge volumes of tourists travelling. Thankfully, the cost has been greatly reduced and it’s now very affordable.
