Hi Liam,
I had a look at the nurseries and found plenty of standard fruit trees which have been pruned and are less than the 1.8 m mentioned. I have apple, cherry, pear, orange, lemon, pomegranate, grapes and quince, all of which I prune for ease of picking. As other posters have said, they will all need regular watering and will be best in the ground as they could literally cook in the summer in pots.
Spain grows so much fruit so it does seem a bit like coals to Newcastle!
Getting them over here will be a pain as they cannot go in the cabin as they will be over size for overhead lockers and if you´ve seen baggage handlers at work......
Sending them cargo will require a lot more packaging and will probably cost more than you will pay for them.
I´d have a re-think.
