Aldo, I think the best thing you can do is come over and rent in the places you think you might wish to go on to buy. We all have our own favourite areas. Vilamartin is, as you say, far out, but has a Brit heavy population. Punta Prima might be a better bet, or the Toretta estates, the other side of the main road(N332) from the sea, some of which are within 30 minutes walk of the beach.  Torrevieja itself is a cosmopolitan town.
Before we moved, we rented several properties through trip advisor, they have a system in place to ensure your money stays safe.

Hi Purple Gran.

Yes thinking of visiting a few areas but just trying to get some information to allow me to narrow my search down.

Appreciate the information and taking time out to reply.

Thanks again

Hi Aldo, we are in the Punta Prima area. Lovely location. Plenty of lovely bars and restaurants. There are beaches close by with easy walking distance. Lovely beaches a little further on. Although we do hire a car as we like exploring. There are buses. Property is very nice with many english.  Good luck
