Sadly our next door neighbour speaks no English, and my Spanish is "poco".  He and his wife are very friendly, though, but we're a bit shy about asking him about his shutters and doors which MAY be PVC or Aluminium.  (Can't tell!)

By comparison our wooden shutters are old and look dirty- so time to replace with items which look similar to timber, but don't need so much cleaning or any painting.  I could take my translator next door- for sure Jose would help but I need a starting point.

Can someone help us get started- are most common PVC or aluminium?  And can anyone recommend an installer (English speaking!!)  Torrevieja/La Mata area.

All answers greatly appreciated- thanks in advance from a numpty!

Hi

We've just had our wooden shutters and windows replaced with aluminium - which seems to be common in Spain. I think PVC is usually imported.

We used a chap called Manuel. His English is better than he thinks it is, but it's probably easier to message him first on WhatsApp +34 661 20 88 59. We came across him when he did some work for a near neighbour. Recommended.

Before we learned about aluminium, we also had PVC patio doors installed by https://www.simplydoorsandwindows.es/ but I don't know if they now supply shutters as well, but they were planning to.

Cheers

Steve
