Good afternoon all

This is our first full summer here in Torrevieja .

Apologies in advance if this has been covered in the past but as soon as the temperatures increased ( Torreta 3 alongside the lake ) the smell increased to a very unpleasant level in the bathroom. We have tried many ways to neutralize the smell and would welcome any advice on how to deal with it .

TIA

Annie

Are you in an apartment? or independent house/villa?

Ventilation shafts in apartment blocks are sometimes shared or the silver liners are not properly connected and smells can be coming from adjacent unoccupied apartments. As an experiment try blocking the vent temporarily to see if the smell clears.

You could all try using your bidets, then there wouldn’t be dry wastes!

My wife uses our bidet to soak her house plants in it periodically.  😄........

That is the standard UK response. Personally I have used a bidet for most of my life and have never understood the remark.

Me too!!

TMI, we had one installed in our U.K. bathroom many years ago.  Our youngest, then about two, decided it was her personal wash basin, she’d start with her face , then work down, ending by standing in it to wash her feet.  Nothing would persuade her otherwise, until she was tall enough to reach the washbasin.  Our eldest, thinks his is just a magazine rack.
