Sorry to disagree about fog in Spain, a couple of weeks ago I was driving between La Zenia and Alicante early in the morning and in low lying areas encountered really thick pea soupers, also a few months ago at night came out of Drivers Bar at Villamartin ( I was the nominated driver / not drinking ) and couldn't see the opposite side of the road the fog was so thick. So not a common event but it does happen.
