Since returning to my apartment in Torrevieja after a 6 month lock down in UK and discovering a bunch of young Cockroachs in my Cutlery draw I have been leaving half heads of garlic in my cupboards and draws and under the sink.
This plus a Carrefour spray seems to have kept them at bay for a year now.
As someone said before do not use traps as this will actually attract them. Make sure your use drainers (that catch kitchen food in the sink), to cover drain holes, and stop any food going down into the drain, as that will also draw them into your home. Plug all other basins at night.

The best way we found to irradicate them is to buy the long lasting cockroach spray (12 Months) and spray it across all door thresholds and round the window ledges, this won't stop them coming in but if they walk across the sprayed area they are soon dead.
